There are some times, even when the conditions are right, you still fail to see chukar in Nevada………

Nevada chukar hunting

A recent Nevada chukar hunting trip to Willow Creek Reservoir revealed plenty of water, plenty of forage near the water, a guzzler in the area, and only a few chukar.

And what causes this situation…too many unsuccessful hatches, or just too much hunting pressure……?

Although some chukar were spotted, they were often in very small groups, and very skittish…….

Luckily, there did happen to be plenty of waterfowl on the reservoir, making up for the sparse chukar hunting.  With Nevada migratory bird season opening up for the area,  we were able to come home with ducks and geese as a reward for our efforts.

If you’re looking to hunt Nevada chukar at Willow Creek Reservoir, plan on hunting hard, all day long and prepare for the cold elements!
