As another benefit of hunting and enjoying Nevada’s great outdoors, you may be lucky enough to discover the symbols of the earliest hunters.  Known as petroglyphs, these images of game and birds are carved in rocks throughout the state.

An interesting fact….

Some Nevada petroglyphs are estimated to be 8,000 to 10,000 years old….

Many questions come to mind when viewing the carvings…..

What was the topography the original peoples encountered when hunting their game?

What weapons did they construct to successfully hunt?

How plentiful was the game at the time?
