In mid-May I took a trip to unit Nevada Hunting unit 161-164, and camped in the Monitor Range area. On my way, I noticed multiple antelope groups going through Big Smoky Valley, through the Toquima Range and throughout Monitor Valley. I also saw signs of elk and mule deer up high in the Monitor Range. At this point time, there looks to be plenty of water and feed to support the wildlife, but there have been fires that went through the area last year….so be aware of this situation.
